What you will learn

Short video lessons that build one skill at a time. Watch it, try it on paper, then check it.

Step 1

The basics

The three isometric directions, boxes, cubes, and circles drawn freehand and with a compass.

Step 2

Pipes and joints

Pipes, cones, the curve where a stub meets a pipe, and angled braces drawn without copying the plan angle.

Step 3

Flanges and clamps

Reading the drawing, sizing in proportion, bolts on a bolt circle, flanges on a pipeline and clamps.

Step 4

The exam hour

Worked nodes and clamps, a one-hour plan, timed practice drawings and a checklist to mark yourself.

A personal note

This section is harder than it sounds. I know, because I had to redo it.

I knew every node, clamp and flange from the water. What I didn't have was a method for getting them onto paper, in the right directions, inside an hour.

So I took the time to teach it properly. One skill at a time, in the order I wish I'd learned it, using the components you already work on.
